Hello! My name is Rebecca Sorenson
I began tap dancing at age 4 and ballroom dancing a few years later with the help of my grandparents who were dancers. It was always my passion, along with skating, inspired and encouraged by my parents who were skaters. As a teenager, I pursued square and round dancing, a family favorite activity, which led me to train and compete in ballroom dancing. Additionally, I earned my bronze and silver medals in ballroom dance roller skating and performed in California Gold Skate competition. My professional background includes:
- Trained by National and World Champions in International & American styles of Ballroom, Latin, West Coast Swing, Hustle
- International & American styles Pro-Am Competitions
- Over 30 years of experience in International & American Ballroom & Latin Instruction and Performing
- Professional Instruction since 1990

Competition
A great deal of training and practice is required to become a competitive dancer, particularly Ballroom and Latin, but it is a great experience and one step towards becoming a professional for those interested. If you like West Coast Swing, I can help you prepare for Jack & Jill competitions. They are super fun and test a dancer's ability to lead and follow, because they are required to dance with whoever they draw and may not even know their partner.
